Currently, I translate a sense of emptiness as a form of absence within the celebration of an individual. I emphasize the ritualistic relationship by giving functional aspects of the object a symbolic meaning, through which I aim to create a shared significance. Because this ritualistic relationship has become so essential, I want to create a space in which a sense of togetherness can emerge within this absence. Ritual reminds us of our interdependence and shows that we can only experience ourselves in relation to others. In this way, a field of attention opens up where absence is not resolved, but shared, recognized, and held with care.
